Dear Reader,
Crumbling
cheese treats! It was a week before Halloween, and my sister
Thea wanted me to write a book of fun games and activities
to celebrate the spookiest day of the year. I don’t know why
she wanted me to do it when she knows what a scaredy
mouse I am. Just thinking about October 31st makes
my fur stand on end!
But sure
enough, faster than you can say “slippery sewer slugs,” I
was on the way to the cemetery to do research. Oh, how I hate
cemeteries! I’m always afraid I’ll see a bat or a skeleton
or even a ghost. Fortunately, my nephew Benjamin was with
me. He is awfully brave for such a little mouse. Without Ben
by my side, I would’ve run away squeaking in terror!
At the
cemetery we met a beautiful but spooky mouse named Creepella
von Cacklefur. Creepella was full of good ideas for games
and activities — but they were all TERRIFYING! Even worse,
Creepella seemed to have a little crush on me! She was very
pretty, but I was worried. Creepella was so creepy she’d probably
want to visit a cat clinic on our first date!
Well,
you’ll get to read all about how I managed to escape from
Creepella — as well as all of Creepella’s spookiest ideas
for Halloween — in my next book, It’s Halloween, You ’Fraidy
Mouse! I hate to admit it, but I did end up having a good
time on Halloween.
Cheers
and squeaks,
