WHAT'S
WRONG WITH GERONIMO?
By

NEW MOUSE CITYThe strange behavior of Rodent's Gazette
editor Geronimo Stilton has been the talk of the town this
week. He's been neglecting his work, failing to get upset
when his employees goof off, and going around the office throwing
money away. "And that's not like Mr. Stilton at all,"
said his underpaid secretary Mousella McMouser.
Geronimo has been described recently by some of his closest
associates as "dreamy," "absent-minded,"
and "in a daze." When he himself was asked to comment
on the talk circulating around the office, he replied, "Office?
What office?"
Well, this article contains the true explanation of what
has turned a sophisticated newspapermouse into a furry, daydreaming
blob. Here, for the first time, is the exclusive inside story.
Hold onto your ears, rodents. The truth is, Geronimo Stilton
is
IN LOVE!
The object of Geronimo's affection is young countess Stephanie
von Sugarfur. When she was reached by telephone at the Grand
Cheddar Hotel, and asked what she had done to attract the
attentions of the famous Geronimo Stilton, she replied, "Geroni-who?"
It appears that Geronimo has tried to win Countess Stephanie's
heart with flowers, chocolates, and other gifts, but she still
doesn't know that he exists. His new plan is to get her to
notice him by doing something extraordinary that no mouse
has ever done before, but he's not exactly sure what it will
be.
Meanwhile his sister, the fearless Thea Stilton, says that
she and her brother are going on an expedition to find the
legendary Valley of the Cheesettes. If they succeed, that
would be an extraordinary feat indeed.
