From
the Desk of
Geronimo Stilton
Dear Reader,
Have you ever heard the expression, “all work and no play can make a mouse very cranky and a bit tense”?
Well recently, I’ve been feeling as tense as
a hamster on a stuck treadmill! Even my vacations
are stressful—like my latest one to San
Shabby Fur Island.
I had to pay a fortune for a round-trip flight
on Last Gasp Airlines. And my hotel, the Rathole,
was filled with creepy, crawly cockroaches! I
had some experiences I wouldn’t wish
on an alley cat. This trip was so crazy and
so wild that it was great material for my new
book, Surf’s Up, Geronimo!, but it did
nothing for my stress level.
As a matter of fact, yesterday after work, I
decided to stop by the local pharmacy to take a
stress test. Cheese whiskers, my stress level was
so high that it actually broke the machine! So you
know what I’m going to do? From now on, I’m
going to trust my mouse gut instincts, and spend less time
worrying and more time focusing on things I love to do.
Like what, you ask?
For starters, I’m going to take a nice warm
cheese-scented bubble bath at least once a week.
Then, I’m going to spend more time with my
sweet-as-cheesecake nephew Benjamin. And finally,
I’m going to take more vacations. And when
I say vacations, I mean nice, relaxing vacations
filled with sweet dreams, swimming pools, and
strawberry milkshake smoothies.
Yours truly,
