Dear Reader,

I, Geronimo Stilton, was up against my toughest challenge yet! Now, I know what you're thinking — how could any new challenge be tougher than climbing Mouse Everest? Or surviving the Rattytrap Jungle? Or being trapped on a ship of bloodthirsty pirate cats? (Yes, these are just a few of the things that have happened to me in my previous adventures.) Well, this time was different, I assure you. Why? Because this time I was in love!

Now, I know this may not seem like anything worth getting my tail in a knot about. But you know what a shy, clumsy rodent I am! I'm just hopeless when it comes to talking to female mice.

Oh, but wait — I'm getting ahead of myself. Let me tell you how it all began.

I was on my way to the coffee shop one morning when I spotted the most beautiful rodent in all of Mouse Island. Unfortunately, I immediately tripped over my paws and ended up with my tail in a toaster. I was one mortified mouse! But I was determined to prove my love.

And that turned out to be the beginning of an even more outrageous adventure! Thea, Trap, and Benjamin convinced me that to impress my darling ratlette, I should join them on our most daring expedition yet — a journey to the Eighth Wonder of the World! There, we made a discovery so amazing, I knew it had to be the subject of my next bestseller! I hope you'll enjoy reading it. I decided to call it All Because of a Cup of Coffee because that's how it all began. I hope you'll enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it!
