Dear Reader,

Smokin Swiss cheese! All over New Mouse City, there were rumors flying about a phantom haunting the subway tunnels. At first, I thought the rumors were just that rumors. You see, dear reader, I am a reasonable mouse. I know better than to believe in ghosts and other superstitious nonsense like that.

But then, on my way to the office that morning, I saw the ghost with my very own eyes! I was so terrified, even my whiskers were trembling. I scampered to my office as fast as my paws could take me. But before I could say one cup of coffee, hold the sugar, my sister Thea had dragged me back onto the subway. She is one brave mouse, my sister, and she was determined to get the scoop for The Rodents Gazette.

So Thea, my cousin Trap, and I set off to investigate the dark, spooky tunnels below New Mouse City. But little did we know that we were in for the fright of our lives because the ghost turned out to be a CAT!
