Stilton Plans Trip to Frozen Ratzikistan
By Sweetie Cheesetriangle
NEW MOUSE CITYAs some elderly readers may remember, The
Rodent's Gazette was started many years ago by William
Shortpaws, a tough, no-nonsense newspapermouse. Now, his
grandson, the well-known author Geronimo Stilton, publishes
the paper. Yesterday morning, however, the staff was startled
when Geronimo's grandfather returned to work and immediately
started giving orders. Everyone obeyed him, even Geronimo.
After all, it's not surprising that a mouse who's afraid
of his own shadow is also afraid of his own grandfather.
Grandfather William said he came back to publish a guidebook
to the snow-covered land of Ratzikistan. Since there are
no other guidebooks for that distant frozen country, it would
be the very first. When asked about his grandfather's plan,
Geronimo said, There are no guidebooks to Ratzikistan because
no one goes there. Not even penguins. The temperature there
is 40 degrees below zero!
But that fact made no difference to Grandfather William.
To research the book, he's making a trip to Ratzikistan by
camper, and he's forceder, persuaded Geronimo and Geronimo's
sister Thea, the Gazette 's special correspondent,
to come with him.
This morning, Grandfather William's large cheese-colored camper
was packed, loaded, and on the road. We wish the driver and
his passengers bon voyage and happy motoring. We sincerely
hope the camper doesn't get frozen into a glacier like a prehistoric
Mousetodon, or run out of gas in the trackless snow. Who knows
what other dangers await the Stiltons in the mouse-forsaken
land of Ratzikistan! Stay tuned for further reports.
