Breaking News PhotoTHE END OF THE RODENT’S GAZETTE?

If We Don’t Find a Way Out, This May Be Our Last Issue!
By Ya-Ya O’Cheddar

NEW MOUSE CITYIt’s a disaster, a catastrophe, a calamity! The Rodent’s Gazette has been thrown off all the newsstands in the city! All the reporters and the rest of the staff, including our editor, Geronimo Stilton, have been kicked out onto the street! And we can’t even borrow the money we need to stay in business, because Ratlay’s Bank won’t lend us any!

It seems there’s a mysterious one-eyed rat in town who’s very rich—rich enough to buy up every copy of The Rodent’s Gazette and replace it with a copy of his own newspaper, The Roaring Rat. Rich enough to pay our landlady, Leona Misermouse, an enormouse amount of money to rent our offices to someone else. Even rich enough to become the new owner of Ratlay’s Bank!

What are we going to do? Nobody knows for sure, but we hope Geronimo will think of something. He says he’s not a very brave mouse, but he’s had the courage to get through worse troubles than this. Besides, his sister, Thea, always comes through, and she has a way of giving her brother a gentle push in the right direction. And even Geronimo’s little nephew Benjamin is ready to pitch in and help.

So, faithful readers, don’t give up on The Rodent’s Gazette. New Mouse City’s favorite newspaper won’t go down without a fight. And watch your whiskers, Mr. one-eyed rat! You don’t know what’s going to hit you. We’ll be back on the newsstands and back in our offices before you know it—we hope.
