Secret of the Emerald
Eye Uncovered!

by Toffie Sugarsweet

For years, residents of Mouse Island have whispered about the legendary treasure of the Emerald Eye. Does the Emerald Eye really exist? Why has it remained hidden all these years? These questions have been answered, thanks to ace reporters Geronimo and Thea Stilton.

"It started when I discovered an old map at a flea market," says Thea. "As soon as I saw that X marked next to the words 'Emerald Eye,' I told my brother we had to go find the treasure! What an opportunity! But of course, he didn't want to go."

"It's true," Geronimo laughs. "I didn't believe in the Emerald Eye, but Thea was sure it would be worth it. And saying no to my sister is like telling a mouse not to crave cheese. It just doesn't do any good."

Just a few days later, Thea, Geronimo, and their cousin Trap set sail. Their month-long journey was full of surprises — including finding Geronimo's favorite nephew, Benjamin, stowed away onboard. And then there was the hurricane that tossed their ship, the Lucky Lady, around the ocean like a toy ship in a bathtub.

All four mice made it through the storm relying on survival skills they didn't know they had — like making a raft out of an old trunk with Geronimo's silk pajamas as the sail! But many dangers awaited the Stiltons once they reached the island - quicksand, bee swarms, and even booby traps! But uncovering the true secret of the Emerald Eye was worth it, says Benjamin Stilton: "The Emerald Eye is the most beautiful treasure I've ever seen!"

As for Geronimo, when asked if he would do it again, he shrugged and said, "I might... but not right now! Not even next week. It's good to be home safe and sound in my cozy mouse hole with my mega huge fridge. I think Thea, Trap, and Benjamin agree with me on that!"
