Dear mouse
friends,
Welcome
to the first issue of The Rodent's Gazette Online!
My staff has been hard at work writing articles and creating
activities just for you. I think you'll agree that they have
done a fabumouse job putting this first issue together. I
wish I could have helped them out a little more, but these
days I am as busy as a rat in a gourmet cheese store. It's
all because of my sister Thea, my cousin Trap, and my favorite
nephew, Benjamin. They are always dragging me off on crazy
adventures!
First,
Thea found a map that led to an amazing treasure, the Emerald
Eye. And guess who had to go help her find it? None other
than me! Next, I was sent on assignment to the Great Cheese
Pyramid in Egypt. And my last two trips were my most fur-raising
experiences yet! I climbed Mouse Everest (where I met a real-life
yeti!), and then I made a tail-twitching visit to a house
haunted by (gulp) CATS! I can't complain though, because I
love to write about my adventures when I come back home to
New Mouse City. In fact, many of my bestselling books are
based on my trips around the world!
My favorite
trip by far was the one I took last summer. Thea and I traveled
all the way to the United States of America. And I am happy
to report that the kids I met there were much like the young
mice here on Mouse Island friendly, curious, generous,
and very, very funny! I had a whisker-licking good time with
everyone I met. In fact, I liked America so much that I will
be traveling back there this month. First I'll be visiting
my friends at Scholastic, Inc. (that's in New York City!),
and then I might even stop by your town. I'll be sure to take
lots of pictures during my trip to share with you in next
month's Letter from the Editor. I hope to see you all soon!
Cheers
and squeaks,
