Hi, readers! I was born in August, and growing up I loved the fact that my birthday fell during summer vacation - it meant I always had an entire day off to celebrate. While school vacations have long been over for me, I still look forward to my birthday each year, to celebrating with family and friends. And this year is special because I'll turn 60. It's an amazing age, and I've spent a good deal of time lately thinking about how I reached this point. So I thought it would be fun to look back and put together a timeline of the major events in my life, personal and professional. In order to get going, we have to go all the way back to 1955. . . .
I'm lucky that I was born to a loving, supportive family, had the opportunity to go to college, and have been able to work at a job I've loved for so many years. Whenever we reach a birthday, big or small, we tend to look both back and ahead. Sixty pretty amazing years are behind me. Ahead of me? Who knows? I would like more time for sewing and needlework, for card-making and reading. And of course writing. I'm open to anything.
Happy reading, and enjoy the rest of the summer!
