Children's Books About Starting Kindergarten

Get your child ready for kindergarten with fantastic children's books all about starting school.
on August 06, 2015
I know it feels like school JUST ended, but it's time to prep your kids for kindergarten. I'm not talking about making sure they can go potty alone, or if they know the sounds the letters make – I am talking about being confident, ready, and willing to be in school all day. Kindergarten is a big step and, as a mom who is sending her youngest off this fall, I know it's not something you can just spring on your kids. School anxiety is real and one way we can help minimize it is to read a lot of books about what to expect in kindergarten. These 10 books are some of my very favorite books that I think help prepare children for the exciting world of kindergarten.
First Day Jitters by Julie Danneberg
Kindergarten Rocks! by Katie Davis
Wemberly Worried by Kevin Henkes
Off to Kindergarten by Tony Johnston
On the Way to Kindergarten by Virginia Kroll
The Kissing Hand by Audrey Penn
Kindergarten Diary by Antoinette Portis
