You can enter in one way only: Visit facebook.com/ScholasticParents during the Promotion Period (defined below) and "like" and comment #scholasticsweepstakes on the post to enter. By entering this Giveaway, you acknowledge that this information is being submitted to Sponsor and not to Facebook. One entry per person. Giveaway Day 1 opens for entry at 10:00 a.m. ET on December 5, 2018 and all entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. ET on December 12, 2018 (the “Promotion Period 1”). Giveaway Day 2 opens for entry at 10:00 a.m. ET on December 7, 2018 and all entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. ET on December 14, 2018 (the “Promotion Period 2”) Scholastic Inc. ("Sponsor") assumes no responsibility for (a) lost, misdirected, damaged, stolen, illegible, failed, incomplete, garbled, delayed or late entries or mail; (b) telephone, electronic, program, network, Internet, or computer delays, deletions, interruptions or other failures of any kind; or (c) any human error that may occur in the processing of any entry, nor are they responsible for any theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries, whether caused by the sender or any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in this Giveaway. Proof of online submission of the entry does not constitute proof of delivery. In the event of a dispute regarding the identity of a person submitting an entry, the entry will be deemed to be submitted by the Authorized Account Holder of the Facebook account at the time of entry. "Authorized Account Holder" is defined as the natural person who is responsible for the ownership of the Facebook account. All entries (and rights in the winning entries) become the property of Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned.
2 | Giveaway Days 1 and 2 open to current residents of the 50 United States and Washington, DC, who are over the age of 18 at the time of entry and a member of a family (“Family,” solely for the eligibility purposes of this Sweepstakes, is defined as, at a minimum, the entrant and at least one child who is seventeen (17) or younger at the time of entry, whose parent/legal guardian is the entrant)., except employees of Sponsor, the Giveaway prize provider, and their affiliates, subsidiaries, and their respective advertising, promotion, and fulfillment agencies (collectively, the "Related Entities"), and the immediate families of each. Subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws. Giveaway is void where prohibited or restricted by law.
3 | Day 1 Prize winner will be drawn at random. Drawing will be completed on or about December 13th 2018 by Sponsor, whose decisions on all matters relating to this Giveaway are final and binding. The winners will be contacted through Facebook or about December 13th 2018. Day 1 Prize is a Discovery 76mm Telescope, approximate retail value for prize: $149.
4 | Day 2 Prize winner will be drawn at random. Drawing will be completed on or about December 17th 2018 by Sponsor, whose decisions on all matters relating to this Giveaway are final and binding. The winners will be contacted through Facebook on or about December 17th 2018. Day 2 Prize pack includes a Discovery magnifier, binocular, sky and nature scope, microscope and adventure scope. Approximate retail value for prize pack: $79.99.
5 | Prize is non-transferable, not returnable, and cannot be sold or redeemed for cash. No prize substitution except by Sponsor in case of unavailability, in which case a prize of equal or greater value will be awarded.
6 | If the administration or integrity of the Giveaway is compromised or corrupted at any time, the Sponsor reserves the right to modify, suspend or cancel the Giveaway. By entering this Giveaway, winner and all entrants agree that Sponsor, Facebook and Related Entities and their respective officers, directors, agents and employees will have no liability or responsibility for injuries, losses or damages of any kind, including any that are computer related, resulting from the acceptance, possession or use of any prize or participation in this Giveaway and they will be held harmless against any claims arising directly or indirectly from the use of any prizes or participation in the Giveaway. By entering the Giveaway, entrants affirm that they have read and accepted these Official Rules. Any person attempting to defraud or in any way tamper with this Giveaway will be ineligible for prizes.
7 | Except where prohibited by law, entrance and/or acceptance of a prize shall constitute and signify the entrant and/or winner's consent, to the use of the entry, his/her name, address (city and state only), biographical information, likeness, age, voice and/or photograph for any lawful purpose in any media now known or hereafter created, including online, in perpetuity without further notice or compensation. Any person attempting to defraud or in any way tamper with this Giveaway will be ineligible for a prize. All information submitted to Sponsor, shall be subject to Sponsor’s privacy policy, which can be found at www.scholastic.com/privacy.htm.
