Be Mine

Our lovely Valentine's crafts will charm your children and fill your home with sweetness.

Be Mine

Wall Art with Heart:

  • variety of solid and patterned pink and red paper
  • scissors
  • picture frame
  • acid-free tape runner, double-sided tape, or scrapbook glue

Cut a piece of solid paper (or tape together a few smaller pieces) the size of your picture frame for the background.

Cut shapes — such as hearts, letters, etc. — out of the pink, red, and patterned paper, and tape or glue them to the background in the design of your choice.

Insert wall art into your frame and hang.

Cute ‘n’ Classy Foam Bouquet:

  • pink, red, and green craft foam
  • scissors
  • a glue gun or thick craft glue
  • pipe cleaners
  • hole punch

Cut heart-shaped petals out of the red and pink foam. Layer them in concentric circles to form a flower, gluing them in place as you go.

Wrap one end of a piece of pipe cleaner around the base of your flower and glue it in place. (The rest of the pipe cleaner will be the stem.)

Cut leaf shapes out of the green foam. Punch a small hole in each leaf and thread one or two onto the stem of each flower. Twist the stem around your finger and then stretch it out to make it curl.

Candy Necklace:

  • wired ribbon (available at craft stores)
  • wrapped hard candy

Cut a length of wired ribbon (about 3 to 4 feet) and use it to form a candy chain by winding the ribbon around the wrappers (where they twist shut) or sticks.

Connect the ends of the candy chain to form a long necklace.

To make a ring, take a piece of ribbon (about 6 inches) and bend it in half. At the bend, form a loop the size of your child’s finger, and wrap the extra ribbon around a piece of candy.

Rosy-Red Gift Pouch:

  • red, pink, and white paper plates
  • stapler
  • hole punch
  • ribbons

Fold two plates in half and join them in a heart shape. Staple in place and cut edges with scissors to exaggerate the heart shape if necessary.

Embellish by punching holes in pouch as desired; thread ribbon through holes to form handles or bows.

Fill with treats.
