2023 was a big year for books! Everything from graphic novels to horror stories and nonfiction titles made the top 50 best-sellers from The Scholastic Store.
The highly anticipated graphic novel release Dog Man #11: Twenty Thousand Fleas Under the Sea claimed top spot, while Diary of a Roblox Pro #1: Monster Escape clinched fourth place. Other new titles in the list included the latest adventures in the There Was An Old Lady… series, as well as the bone-chilling horror novel Piggy: Infected.
Pokémon books featured heavily, with four titles making the top 45 — the highest placed being Pokémon Comic Reader #1: Battle for the Bolt Badge, which came in at number 2.
Two nonfiction titles featured in the top 10. The funny and factual The Ocean Is Kind of a Big Deal took eighth place, while one place above at number seven was Little Skill Seekers: Sight Words.
The best-selling boxed set was the Unicorn Diaries Value Pack — a popular series from the Scholastic early chapter book line, Branches, created for newly independent readers. Also included in the list were beloved holiday classics The Gingerbread Man and Merry Christmas, Stinky Face.
