Wrap It Up

Babies love to unwrap boxes – if you’ve ever observed a one-year-old at his birthday party you’ll know that most babies are more delighted by opening a gift than in the object itself. When you have time, wrap some boxes in leftover pieces of wrapping paper, tissue paper, or even old magazines and newsprint. If you like, you can put a small toy (that your child already owns) or a piece of cereal or cracker inside, so he can discover as well as have the joy -- and motor-skill practice -- of opening packages.
