Using "Parentese"

Parentese is the high-pitched, sing-songy, exaggerated manner of speaking parents seem to instinctively adopt around babies. Parentese serves an important purpose. Its exaggerated qualities help children’s brains separate one sound from another as you talk. It’s easier on your child’s brain, helping her recognize vowel-consonant groupings.
