Teach Your Child to Read Over His Own Work

Teach your child to proofread his assignments before turning them in. The more he recognizes and corrects his own errors, the more likely he'll be to avoid those mistakes in the future. In addition, encourage him to combine sentences when possible so that his writing is concise and flows well.
