Author and performer Donna Washington’s tip for sharing spooky stories with children under age 8 is to let them see the scary thing coming in advance. Kids love listening to spooky stories, but with young children, your goal is not to cause nightmares! Try turning the climax into something funny rather than frightening, and make the scary thing gone for good by the conclusion of the story.
