The Shape of Things

This is a fun way to practice learning shapes and colors. Plus, it makes for some pretty art to hang up or give away. First, cut some simple geometric shapes, just a few inches wide, out of different colored construction paper. Set out the shapes for your child, showing her which is which. Then give her a paper plate spread with a thin layer of glue. Now, ask your child to place her shapes however she likes in a pretty mosaic.
