Pull Out Some Poetry for Reading Time

This National Poetry Month, consider reading poetry to your baby. What does poetry have to do with learning? Poetry’s rhythm and rhyme are almost song-like when they are heard aloud, and they catch your child’s ear more than prose might, so it promotes listening skills that’ll be crucial as she learns to read later. You can also consider recorded poetry for car rides — you might even think about recording yourself reading!
