Pull Out Some Poetry for Reading Time

What does poetry have to do with learning? Poetry’s rhythm and rhyme are almost song-like when they are heard aloud, and they catch your child’s ear more than prose might, so it promotes listening skills that’ll be crucial as she learns to read later.
