Menu Planning Tips

Whether you work outside the home or not, it’s smart to use freer weekend time to get a handle on your meal-planning for the week. First, take an inventory of the equipment you have available to ease cooking efforts, such as a slow-cooker or rice cooker. Then, stock up on good storage containers for the fridge and freezer, too. Labels, especially for items like soups and sauces, can help you keep organized. Include on the labels quick directions for defrosting and reheating, as well as the date you placed the item in the fridge or freezer. Write up a meal plan, shop, and get cooking: A few good hours on the weekend and you could have nearly a week’s worth of dinners in the can!
