Me and My Shadow

Teach your child about orbit with a roll of brown paper, white chalk, and rocks to hold down the paper. Pick a time of day. At that time each week for a month, have your child face the sun and draw a chalk outline of her feet. Leave the paper there and draw the outline of her body. The following weeks, do the same thing but don’t change the position of anything. You will see her shadow outline on the paper gradually shift.
