Make Cards for Veterans Day

This Veterans Day, arrange for your middle schooler and a few friends to create and decorate cards to thank military veterans. You could also consider reaching out to your child’s teacher to make it a class-wide project. Provide simple materials like construction paper and markers — remind your child that it’s more important to write words of gratitude than to design a fancy card. Research local veterans’ homes in your area, and inquire about dropping off a batch of thank-you cards. This project will be sure to teach your child to appreciate veterans, and it’ll also be excellent practice in doing community service.
