Identifying Adverbs in a Familiar Story

Adverbs describe verbs, adjectives, and other adverbs. To help your child understand how adverbs are used, ask her to point them out as you read a familiar story. Make a list and classify the adverbs by the questions they answer: when, where, and how? The adverb soon answers when, under answers where, and quickly answers how.
