To encourage your baby to learn about texture and to develop her sense of touch, it is good to have a few touch-and-feel books, from the classic Pat the Bunny to any of the many newer texture board books in the store. These books contain various types of textures: smooth and rough; squishy and crinkly; ribbed like corduroy or tickly like fur.
