Beginning, Middle, and End

A vital part of reading comprehension is understanding the basic structure of a story. Preface your reading by asking your child to listen carefully and consider the order of the story.  Afterwards you can talk about it or even draw pictures that show something that happened at the start, the middle, and the conclusion of the story, with arrows between each.
