Pumpkin Sculpture

What you need:

  • Brown lunch sack
  • Newspaper
  • Paintbrush
  • Black and orange paint
  • String

What to do:

  1. With your child, wad up newspapers into smaller balls. Your child may also enjoy tearing the newspaper and hearing the sounds it makes.
  2. Stuff the wadded-up newspaper into the paper bag, and tie closed with a piece of twine.
  3. Paint the bag with orange paint. Once the orange dries, paint a face on top with black paint.
  4. Let the pumpkin sculpture dry. Then, practice rolling the "pumpkin" back and forth with your child, talking about the round shape and orange color of the pumpkin.
