What you need:
- Brown lunch sack
- Newspaper
- Paintbrush
- Black and orange paint
- String
What to do:
- With your child, wad up newspapers into smaller balls. Your child may also enjoy tearing the newspaper and hearing the sounds it makes.
- Stuff the wadded-up newspaper into the paper bag, and tie closed with a piece of twine.
- Paint the bag with orange paint. Once the orange dries, paint a face on top with black paint.
- Let the pumpkin sculpture dry. Then, practice rolling the "pumpkin" back and forth with your child, talking about the round shape and orange color of the pumpkin.
