Dream Catchers

Originally the Dream Catcher was used by the Canadian and the North American Sioux and the Ojibwa. In a simple form, it is hung above the bed to filter out bad dreams and thoughts, which when caught in the net, disappear by the next morning. The good dreams, however, find their way through the net and travel down the pendulum. A Dream Catcher is supposed to allow the good visions and dreams to pass through while catching the bad ones and sending them back.

The Dream Catcher symbolizes many things, a shield, a web, a snowflake, an eternal circle, and a net. The magic web is a much larger and complex form of the dream catcher.

But the poisonous Black Fire has weakened the strands of the web, and now nightmares — in the form of evil and mischievous creatures — can come through with no resistance. The web must be strengthened and healed, so that it can once again repel evil while continuing to allow goodness to flourish.
