1. To enter the
Labels for Education Book Bonanza Sweepstakes (the "Sweepstakes"): Adults (18 years and older at the time of entry) should visit Scholastic Inc.'s ("Scholastic") web site at http://www.scholastic.com/bookbonanza, complete the online registration form including entrant's name, designated school name, school address, school representative's name, entrant's email address and home phone number. Sweepstakes begins on October 15, 2011 at 12:00 a.m. EST and ends December 31, 2011, at 11:59:59 p.m. EST (the "Promotion Period"). A final random drawing for ten (10) winners will occur soon after the final Sweepstakes deadline of December 31, 2011.
Participants can enter once daily during the Promotion Period. This Sweepstakes can only be entered online, no other method of entry will be accepted. Participants enter the Sweepstakes on behalf of a school (the "School"). Winning schools must be registered with the
Labels for Education program in order to receive their prize. No copies, facsimiles, or reproductions of online entry form will be accepted. In the event of a dispute over the identity of an entrant, entry will be deemed submitted by the holder of the e-mail account submitted in the entry process.
2. Eligibility. Sweepstakes is open only to adults 18 years and older at the time of entry, who are current legal residents of the 50 United States (and the District of Columbia or Puerto Rico). Void where prohibited by law. Full- or part-time employees of Sponsor, Scholastic Inc. ("Scholastic"), their respective parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising, promotion and production agencies, and their immediate families and those living in their households are not eligible to enter. Any person who attempts to defraud or in any way tamper with this Sweepstakes will be disqualified.
3. Winner. The final drawing will be conducted by Scholastic, whose decisions on all matters relating to this Sweepstakes shall be final. Odds of winning depend on number of eligible entries received during the Promotion Period. Winners will be notified by email or telephone at the address or number on their entry form.
4. Prizes.
- Two (2) Grand prize Winning Schools will each receive $2,500 worth of Scholastic books
- Two (2) 1st prize Winning Schools will each receive $1,000 worth of Scholastic books
- Six (6) 2nd prize Winning Schools will each receive $500 worth of Scholastic books
Approximate retail value of all prizes: $10,000
No prize substitutions, transfers or assignments of prizes allowed, except by Sponsor. If a winning school is not eligible for the
Labels for Education program or is not registered with the
Labels for Education program the entry will be voided and an alternate winner will be selected. Scholastic is responsible for shipping of books to the winning schools within 60 days of receipt of an affidavit.
The Winning Schools will be required to sign and return an affidavit of eligibility and liability/publicity release and must be registered with the
Labels for Education program within fourteen (14) days of notification attempt or an alternate winner will be selected. Taxes on prizes, if any, are the sole responsibility of the Winning School.
5. General. All entries will become the property of Scholastic and will not be returned. By entering, participants agree to abide by these rules and warrant and represent that their entry information is accurate. By accepting a prize, the Winning Schools grant to Sponsor and Scholastic the right to use its name, address, and likeness, for any lawful purpose, including but not limited to all marketing collateral affiliated with and/or produced by Sponsor without further permission or compensation, except where prohibited by law. By entering and/or accepting a prize, Schools, and the Winning Schools agree to release Sponsor, Scholastic, and their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising, promotion or production agencies, and prize suppliers and all others associated with the development and execution of this Sweepstakes, and the respective officers, directors, shareholders, agents, and employees of the foregoing, involved in the Sweepstakes (collectively, the "Released Parties") from any and all liability, claims or actions of any kind whatsoever that in any way arise from participation in this Sweepstakes or acceptance or use of the prizes.
The Released Parties are not responsible for technical, hardware, software or telecommunications malfunctions of any kind, lost or unavailable network connections, or failed, incorrect, incomplete, inaccurate, garbled or delayed electronic communications caused by the sender, or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in this Sweepstakes which may limit the ability to participate, or by any human error which may occur in the processing of the entries in this Sweepstakes. If for any reason (including, but not limited to, infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other cause beyond the control of the Sponsor or Scholastic, which corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this Sweepstakes) the Sweepstakes is not capable of being conducted as described in these rules, Sponsor and Scholastic shall have the right, at their sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Sweepstakes and winners will be selected from all eligible entries received as of the date of termination. All prizes will be awarded provided there are a sufficient number of entries.
