Between teaching, guiding, mentoring, and inspiring your child, a teacher's job is a lot of work. For National Teacher Appreciation Week (May 8-12) -- or any time of year -- take the opportunity to say "thank you" for all that your child's teacher does.

"We get a clipboard and I let [my child] draw a tree and use her fingerprints as the leaves on the tree. She’s thanking her teacher for helping her grow a little more and learn more." -- Rebecca Portier
"I usually have my son draw a picture and/or little note and get a gift. Last year it was artisan bread, olive oil, and chocolate-covered pretzels. The year before was gourmet cupcakes and flowers." -- Sara Rodriquez
