5 Outdoor Summer Art Projects for Ages 4-6

Aug 03, 2016

There's still plenty of time this summer to get outside with your kids and have a great time with five of our favorite art activities. So grab your chalk, duct tape, paintbrushes, tennis balls, and popsicle sticks (don't worry - you won't need all of these at once) ... and get ready to have some fun!

Here are five great art activities:

1. Easy DIY Art: Painting with Wet Goo

Create homeade goo to make beautiful-painting-inspired frescoes.

2. Petal Prints

Use the flowers already present in nature to create a petal print masterpiece!

3. Outdoor Art Paint Activity: Roll With It

Any round objects will work for this fun, one-of-a-kind outdoor art project with colorful paints.

4. Build a Birdhouse

Provide shelter and attract some fine feathered friends to your backyard using just a few simple materials.

5. Wet and Wonderful Chalk Art

Use water and chalk to get your child's creativity flowing.

What's your favorite summer time art activity you and your kids do? We want to know! Share with us on our Scholastic Parents Facebook page!
