Need some new book recommendations for your kids? The three books below will spark adventure in your children. Below you will find a book about believing in yourself — to do whatever you want. Next, is a tale of two friends off to find fun, and lastly, a graphic novel full of intrigue, adventure and time travel!

Princess Truly in I Am Truly by Kelly Greenawalt

Ages: 3-5
We all want our kids to believe that they can be whatever they want to be because they are truly amazing individuals. Princess Truly in I Am Truly delivers that message again and again, as we watch a young girl with curls take on the world with positive affirmations. Young children will identify with Princess Truly as she is trying new things, playing, inventing and creating. This is a must-read, especially with our daughters.

Ugly Cat & Pablo #1 by Isabel Quintero

Ages: 6-9There's new, early chapter book series in town, and we get to meet Pablo and his sidekick Ugly Cat. Pablo loves adventure, but Ugly Cat prefers the quieter side of life. With a little food persuasion, Ugly Cat is off the porch and on an adventure with Pablo to el parque. With plenty of picture support, different fonts to denote which character is speaking, and a glossary of Spanish words, young readers will enjoy uncovering all of Pablo and Ugly Cat's silly and chaotic bilingual adventures.

The Adventures of John Blake: Mystery of the Ghost Ship by Philip Pullman

Ages: 8 and up
If your kids love reading graphic novels, appreciate thrills and lots of action, and enjoy time travel, then this is the book for them. On a ship out to sea, a boy rescues a girl. But this isn't your average rescue. John needs to return Serena to her own time and that's going to be challenging. From jumping off boats to fights in an airport to car chases, action-loving readers will be turning page after page.
