Welcome the 2025-2026 Class of Scholastic Kid Reporters

Kids Press

Scholastic Kids Press has officially kicked off the 2025-2026 academic year with eight young journalists from across the country and a renewed focus on literacy and the impact reading has on students.

Over the next year, these Scholastic Kid Reporters, ages 10-14, will receive invaluable journalism experience as they report on topics that are central to kids’ lives today, including reading, literacy, education and more.

The 2025-2026 Scholastic Kid Reporters are: Aiden An, Asher Freije, Enya Yang, Evy Bingle, Kush Kalra, Leyla Saldanha, Sara Adibi and Xander Dorsey

The group is already out in the field reporting on back-to-school reading trends for an upcoming content series shining a light on reading phenomena in communities across the U.S. From Battle of the Books to interactive Book Talks, people can learn about the programs and people that are inspiring kids across the country to read. All Kid Reporter stories can be found on the Kids Press website

In addition to this reporting, Kid Reporters have been sharing their findings and promoting reading with their local media outlets. Xander recently visited FOX 5 in Washington D.C. to talk about books he recommends for kids his age, including Alan Gratz’s new War Games, and Sara spoke with KYW Newsradio in Philadelphia about how kids her age consume news and the story she is working on about a local library. In Indianapolis, Asher stopped by WISH-TV to talk about why reading is important and the popularity of graphic novels.

Since 2000, Scholastic Kid Reporters have been reporting from their hometowns and on the national stage. In addition to interviewing teachers, librarians, authors, booksellers, and peers, Scholastic Kid Reporters have made headlines by speaking with influential figures. Their interviews include CNN news anchor Anderson Cooper; civil rights activist Ruby Bridges; Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Lin-Manuel Miranda; conservationist Jane Goodall; former First Lady and President of the United States Michelle and Barack Obama; former Vice President Mike Pence, U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor; New York Yankees shortstop Aaron Judge; Captain Underpants and Dog Man creator Dav Pilkey; and more.

Join us in welcoming our 2025-2026 Scholastic Kid Reporters for another year of impactful storytelling!
