Creating a Social Emotional Classroom Book Nook!
Hello! My name is Tanya Martinez and our classroom is identified in a Title 1 low income school district. Our classroom is building a social emotional learning classroom library nook. Our classroom is learning strategies on applying self-management and responsible decision-making behaviors to engage our unique learners into the general education classrooms.
Help our class create a library nook which caters to their unique learning needs through picture and interactive book options to guide students through social story learning to reflect positive social emotional learning options to mitigate challenging social skills through interactive reading options.
Read Aloud Books
Did you know that reading aloud to children in second grade has incredible benefits? Not only does it help improve their listening comprehension and vocabulary, but it also sparks their imagination and fosters a love for stories. However, many classrooms lack a wide variety of engaging books for this age group. That's why we're asking for your help!
By donating to our book-buying campaign, you'll provide second grade students with access to captivating stories that will help them grow as readers, learners, and dreamers. Every contribution, big or small, will make a difference in the lives of these young minds. Join us in our mission to promote literacy and inspire a new generation of book lovers. Together, we can create a brighter future, one page at a time!
A Classroom Library for All
Hi all, my name is Kristi. I am blessed to be a teacher for a group of wonderful, exceptional education students. These 9-12th graders are inquisitive, and love to learn about their world through reading. Unfortunately, a high school level library doesn’t always have the kind of print-rich environment these kiddos need.
My goal is to establish a classroom library of high-interest, easy readability books, at my students’ reading levels. I believe if I provide them with titles at their reading levels, I will foster a love of reading in all of my students. We will become a classroom of readers!
Let's Inspire Love in Reading
Hello, My name is Raquel Appice and I am a second-grade teacher at Anna C. Scott Elementary School. Teaching is a passion of mine and and so is reading. I love what I do everyday because of the children. I am so blessed to have a job where I can inspire children to have the same passion of reading that I do.
I still get very excited when receiving a new book to read to my students. I would love to update and expand my classroom library in order to put more "just right" book and fun learning books into my students hands. Each year I see the children have different interest in books and I would like to have a large variety of books for them to choose from. Thank you so so much!
Reading Opens Your World
I would like to foster a sense of wonder into the lives of my students through reading. I teach middle school math but believe that a well-rounded student makes the best student. There are many things students can learn from reading. They can learn about different places, cultures, people, animals, and things. It could get a child thinking about a future career, invention, or ways to make this planet a better place.
I strive to make my students well-rounded citizens for our up-and-coming global community and what better way to do this than to get them reading. I plan to work very close with my language arts partner to help with their reading goals. So, the funds will go to purchasing books for our classroom library.
Books for Bright Futures
Our “Books for Bright Futures" campaign with Scholastic will enhance our classroom libraries and foster a love of reading among our students. Our goal is to raise funds to purchase new, diverse, and engaging books that will inspire and support our children's learning journey. Books are more than just reading materials; they are gateways to new worlds, ideas, and perspectives. By updating our collection, we aim to offer students a richer, more inclusive range of reading options that cater to their varied interests and reading levels.
Your support will directly impact our students' educational experience, helping them develop critical thinking skills, improve literacy, and build a lifelong love for reading. Every contribution, no matter the size, brings us closer to providing our students with the resources they need to succeed.
Building a Community of Readers
Hello, my name is Jenny Price and I’m a second grade teacher. I love teaching reading and seeing the joy in my students eyes as everything starts to click. When you become a Book Fairy by contributing to my campaign, you’ll help me raise $500 to send books home with students. With your support, I’ll be able to choose books that reflect the interests of every student in my class and their reading level.
For the past two years, I have been able to put new books in students’ hands due to the generosity of family, friends, and the community. Students take pride in these books. For some students, these are the only books that they get to call their own. Providing these books encourages reading outside of the classroom and builds a lifelong love of reading! Thank you for your support.
Birthday Book Cart for All
I am the Title I Reading teacher at a small, rural Mid-Michigan school. One of the many challenges some of my students face is access to high quality books. To help with this, I have created a Birthday Book Cart. Every month I go around and students who have a Birthday that month get to pick out a book and a bookmark. (Summer birthdays are not forgotten!)
The book Cart brings so much joy to our students. I love using funds from Scholastic because the books are always popular and high quality. I am also able to stack my "bonus points" to get additional books for free. Any donation helps!
Fill Our Classrooms!
Hello! Mrs. Rebekah here and I am the Director of Vinson Morris Children's Center. I’m raising funds to fill our classrooms with books and also have thematic books to rotate through our lending library. I hope that these books will inspire children to read with their families. Children are taught how to read at school, but the real joy of reading is found at home.
These funds will go toward building our hallway lending library and will benefit kids for years to come. With your support, I’ll be able to choose books that reflect the interests of every child in VMCC. Will you become a Book Fairy for my students? Thank you for your support!
Bring New Books to the Hands of Third Graders!
How cool would it be for each student in my class to receive five or more new books throughout the school year at no cost to his/her family? Scholastic has books every week that are $2. I would LOVE for each of my students to be able to bring home a few new books throughout the year from September to May as well as on their birthday or half birthday.
Again this year, I am looking for anyone that would be interested in donating to my class. My goal is to collect as much as I can and order as many new books as I can throughout the year for each student. In order for each student to receive 5 new books, I have set a goal of $200, so every little bit helps! Thank you SO much for helping support my students and our classroom family!
Help Build Home Libraries for my Students!
This year I would like to help my students build their home libraries! I have started a donation campaign through Scholastic Book Club. This allows donors to donate funds directly to my Scholastic account. This gives me the opportunity to take advantage of sales and great prices each month to give a book to each child!
When our book order comes in each month, each child in my class will receive a book, thanks to your donation! Students are always excited to see the red and white book box and love being able to take a book home! Thank you for considering a donation to my class! I appreciate your support!
Book Fairy for Mrs. Tulisiak's Classroom
The new school year is quickly approaching and it’s time to start planning for the upcoming school year! Every year I love to incorporate the Book Fairy into our classroom! The Book Fairy is funded by generous family and friends each year! For $10, you can help provide books for a student for an entire school year! That comes to one book a month August - May!
Students love being able to get a new book that they get to keep at home and not have to return. For some students, this is the only way they get books into their home. My students and I thank you very much for helping to support their reading this year in first grade!
Help Us Build a Diverse Classroom Library!
I am asking for help to building a classroom library that will inspire and nurture a love for reading among our bilingual students. Reading is a crucial skill that opens up a world of knowledge and imagination. However, for many of our students, finding books that reflect their experiences and backgrounds can be a challenge.
My goal is to create a library filled with a diverse range of books that not only help students develop good reading habits but also allow them to see themselves in the stories they read. Books that reflect our students' experiences as bilingual individuals help them learn about themselves and their identities. No donation is too small; every dollar brings us closer to our goal. Thank you for considering our request and for your support!
Reinforce Bilingual Reading
Hi everyone! My name is Zulma Perez and I am a Spanish Immersion Teacher for first and second grade students. I would love to create a library area in my room with science and math books in Spanish. With this, my students will continue their love for reading and reinforce the same in the language they are learning.
I also teach Math and Science and I can use some of the money for math and/or science games and activities to make the learning more fun.
Empowering Dyslexic Learners
Hi! My name is Kelsy Achtenberg and I'm a teacher at The Innovation School. We believe that every student deserves access to resources that support their unique learning styles, especially those with dyslexia. As a school with a high population of dyslexic students, we strive to create an environment where they can thrive and develop a love for reading.
With the $400 from Scholastic, we aim to build a specialized collection of high-interest, dyslexia-friendly books, including audiobooks and graphic novels, that cater to the diverse needs of our students. Thank you in advance for your support!
Bilingual Lending Library
Hello! My name is Stacie and I teach Dual Language Preschool in Perth Amboy, NJ. I’m raising funds to start a classroom lending library for my 30 students using bilinguals books in both English and Spanish. I hope that these books will inspire my students to read with their families and increase their vocabulary and dual language abilities.
When you become a Book Fairy by contributing to my campaign, you’ll help me raise $500 to send books home with students. Any extra funds will go toward building our classroom library and will benefit kids for years to come. With your support, I’ll be able to choose books that reflect the interests of every student in my class. Will you become a Book Fairy for my students? Thank you for your support!
Opening Doors to Bilingualism and Multiculturalism
Hi! My name is Erika Gonzales. I am a Spanish teacher for a two-way immersion school in MD. I have a deep passion for teaching students to value their native languages and welcoming a new language in their life.
I think that students will benefit and open doors to multi diverse ideas and cultures, making them prepared to meet and build relationships with people with different backgrounds. I will thank each of you to make my library fun and interesting for my students. Thank you in advance for your support!
Creating Lifelong Readers
Hi everyone - my name is Gloria and I want to make my sixth-grade students lifelong readers! In my opinion, students need to make connections in the text to draw them in. This is done by introducing them to authors during their time period.
After teaching for 22-years, several of my books are outdated and don't meet the needs of my culturally diverse population. Please help me put current titles in my classroom library. Once they've been drawn in, they can go back to read the classics. Thank you so much for supporting my students!
