Since the release of The Hunger Games in 2008, Suzanne Collins’ dystopian series has gone on to become a global phenomenon, captivating readers around the world.  

The original trilogy follows young heroine Katniss Everdeen from District 12, whose efforts to protect those that she loves sends her into the Capitol’s spotlight. President Snow, leader of Panem, sees her acts of love as a form of rebellion, as do many of the other districts. Can one teenage girl inspire a nation to fight for their freedom?

Set 64 years before the original trilogy, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes tells the story of a young Coriolanus Snow, who is preparing for his one shot at glory as a mentor in the games to the girl tribute from District 12, Lucy Gray Baird. When he realizes that he cares about his tribute, he struggles with his need to follow the rules against his desire for her to win, no matter what it takes. The Tenth Annual Hunger Games is only the start of this origin story of the man who will become President of Panem.

Most recently, fans clamored to get their hands on the latest book in the series: Sunrise on the Reaping. This time, readers are transported to Panem on the morning of the reaping for the Fiftieth Hunger Games, also known as the Second Quarter Quell. A young Haymitch Abernathy, one of four District 12 tributes, must leave his family and his love to enter one of the most deadly arenas in the games history.
