Yamile (sha-MEE-lay) taught herself English with a bilingual dictionary, and she’s passionate about education. Born and raised in Rosario, Argentina (cradle of fútbol), she now lives in Alpine, Utah with her family. Yamile’s standard presentation for grades PreK–12 is forty-five minutes long, and includes a personal introduction, exploration on how books have enriched her life, a reading, and a Q&A. She’s available for writing workshops for grades 3 and up. She’s happy to adapt her presentation to your group’s needs.
Conference and Festival Appearances
Yamile has presented at conferences and festivals for all ages and audiences, and she’s available for panels and classes. She has taught about different craft elements and the writing life.
Yamile is happy to Skype/FaceTime/iChat with classes or reading groups for thirty minutes for free, if they have read her book.
AV and Tech Needs for In-Person Visits
Yamile will need a microphone, and if available, a projector for a PowerPoint presentation. She will provide her laptop and the entertainment.
Yamile offers discounts to local schools. If the presentation is more than an hour drive away, travel fees will be added.
