Marc Brown is the beloved author and illustrator of the popular Arthur books and the Executive Producer of the Emmy Award-winning Arthur television show on PBS. He lives in New York City and loves talking to kids because, as he explains, “Kids are my boss!”

Marc is very comfortable talking to all ages of students K-6 and speaks to high school and college students as well. He prefers larger groups and his presentations generally last about 45 minutes followed by a Q&A if desired.

Presentations focus on where his characters and stories come from and are designed to inspire children to create their own stories. Marc draws and uses slides to tell his story.

Conference and Festival Appearances

Marc is a popular speaker at educational and literary conferences around the country. His talks focus on his work and process as well as the publishing business and are informative and humorous. Talks tend to last about 45 minutes followed by Q&A if desired. Autographing sessions are included if needed.

AV and Tech Needs for In-Person Visits

Please have a projector to which Marc can connect his Apple laptop or iPad, and a microphone. If drawing is involved a large pad on a sturdy easel is needed. He will provide his own markers. For some talks, drawings from his iPad will be projected as part of the presentation.

Marc’s fee for a school visit is $5,000. Keynote visits are $7,500.
