Amy Kim Kibuishi is the author of the fantasy graphic novel The Rema Chronicles: Realm of the Blue Mist, which Kirkus calls “A fast-paced journey through an engrossing new world.” Her talk focuses on the perseverance it took to carry Rema to the printed page: from a vivid dream at age 12 to an instant bestseller at age 42.
During her presentation, Amy shows how she protected her vision through a gauntlet of challenges, and speaks on the impact her mother had on Rema by filling her head with tall tales from post-war South Korea. Originally from Rochester, New York, Amy now lives with her family near San Antonio, Texas. Previews of her book can be found at boltcityproductions.com.
