Last year, educators raised over $2 million with ClassroomsCount™ campaigns to get more of the books students love into their hands. And right now, there’s never been a better time to launch a campaign! Because this Teacher Appreciation Week, we’re giving educators the chance to win a grand prize of a one-on-one consultation with Scholastic’s in-house librarian and $550 worth of brand-new books! It's our biggest ClassroomsCount™ giveaway yet! Plus, six lucky runners-up will win a $50 contribution toward their ClassroomsCount™ campaign.

Plus, check out all the ways we're celebrating educators this Teacher Appreciation Week.

How to Enter

All you have to do to enter is create a campaign before April 30 that is set to expire on or after May 10th. Already have an active campaign? You can still enter! Simply extend the expiration date past May 10th for your chance to win. See official terms here. Once you’re done creating your campaign, share it with your friends, family, and community to start raising funds right away. (Teacher tip: Campaigns that are shared on social media are 4x more likely to hit their goal.)

Raise Funds, Grow Readers

When you launch a ClassroomsCount™ campaign, you have the ability to transform your library and change lives through the power of books. Perhaps you want to give every student a book for the summer, or maybe you just want to freshen up your shelves for next year — whatever it is, the funds you need are just a campaign away!

Setting up a campaign is simple and quick — on average it takes educators just 3 minutes and 42 seconds to create their campaign. And once you set it live, you can start raising funds right away — and all of your funds will be available to spend immediately. Even better? You can spend your money to make purchases from The Teacher Store, Book Clubs, The Scholastic Store, Scholastic Magazines+, and participating Scholastic Book Fairs.

Literary Lights: Illuminating Our library

“I spent it on so many incredible titles. I Survived is always a hit with my students, but I also focused on inclusivity and diversity. I made it a priority to choose books that represented all different types of characters and authors.”

Miss Horton’s Kindergarten Readers

“It is important for the students to have libraries at home, so they can enjoy reading everywhere. We want our students to be strong readers and that has to happen at home and at school. If we want them to read at home, we need them to have books, and I understand some families cannot afford books.”

– Ashley H., teacher raising $600

Aid Deaf Students in Reading Dragon Masters Books

“Crowd funding through ClassroomsCount campaign enabled me as a teacher who has already spent so much money out of my own pocket to fund buying high interest low reading level books. I spent the funds on getting a set of the first five books in the Dragon Masters Series for my class of five deaf students.”

– Michelle T., teacher who raised $260

New Classroom Library

“My students were thrilled to have new books. They cheered as I showed them and they all grabbed a new book to read for reading time. I told them about more books I just ordered and they can’t wait to get their hands on them. There has definitely been an increase in the desire to read since the new books arrived.”

4CE Loves to Read

“My students have been asking me to get new books for soooo long and I always told them I eventually would but I had to save up money. Then I would get the question ‘Did you save up enough money yet?’ and I would have to let them down every time by saying no. Then I got an email from you guys that said ‘Start a campaign for your class library!’"

– Caroline C., teacher who raised $325
