Earlier this week, Booklist announced their 50 Best Middle-Grade Novels of the 21st Century, a collection of books that reflect the experiences of young readers today. We’re proud to share that four Scholastic titles were selected (Harry Potter also received an honorable mention for being one of the greatest!).
The Scholastic titles that made the list are:
Dog Man series by Dav Pilkey
Drums, Girls, and Dangerous Pie by Jordan Sonnenblick
The Great Greene Heist by Varian Johnson
The Serpent’s Secret by Sayantani DasGupta
Honorable mention: Harry Potter series
Booklist said they “wanted a list that reflected the myriad backgrounds and experiences of today’s readers” and described the criteria they were looking within the books as needing to be “a fuzzy blend of literary quality and kid appeal.”
Congratulations to all of our authors that made the list!
