- Write out The Worm from page 19.
Try laminating your poem to keep it from getting worn. It will also help the tape to more easily peel off the paper.
After reading the poem, read it again slowly. Have students identify the rhyming words and use the tape to highlight them. After all of the words have been highlighted, read them aloud with the class.
Distribute copies of the poem to students, and have them use a highlighting pen to identify the rhyming words.
Write down the rhyming words on cards, shuffle them and have students arrange them in rhyming pairs.
