- Heckedy Peg by Audrey Wood
- an old calendar
- a marker
- a pair of scissors
In each calendar square use the marker to write the day of the week. (You may want to do some of this ahead of time.) Use the scissors to cut the squares into strips, cutting horizontally so you end up with strips that have the days of the week, from Sunday to Saturday. Tape the strips end to end, showing students how the days of the week repeat in a pattern.
For older students, try the same activity, but use an entire calendar.
