Have some fun studying Bill Martin Jr., the author of Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? and other fun books for young readers.
- Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? by Bill Martin, Jr. and Eric Carle
Set Up and PrepareFirst ask how many students have already heard this story. If they haven't heard the story, ask the students to predict what a brown bear might see. If they have heard the story, see if they can retell the story.
Read the story as a class and encourage students to point out the rhythmic text and rhyme.
Students can take digital photos of people who work at school. These photos can then be imported into iPhoto, organized and edited, and made into a book called "Students, Students, Who Do You See?"
Using the Brown Bear, Brown Bear word pattern, students can create an iPhoto book about transportation around the world. Global transportation photos are available for free educational use at http://edcommunity.apple.com/ali/story.php?itemID=794&version=7&collectionID=171
