A documentary crew has arrived at Westside Middle School to record the life of supposedly average seventh grader Trevor Jones and his classmates. The thing is, Trevor is far from average. He's a super klutz and an excessive worrier, but his best friend Libby has always been on hand to help him out of embarrassing situations. But now it's the first day of school, and Libby is telling him that he needs to branch out, make new friends, and ask a girl to the fall dance. As he struggles through detention-wielding teachers, eighth-grade bullies, and school gossips, Trevor will have to do the one thing he wasn't prepared to do: be epic. This engaging story is intercut with first-person narrations from the students as well as brief descriptions by the documentary crew.
