The Baby-Sitters Club Is Coming to Netflix—And We’re Excited!

By Scholastic Editors
Grades 3–5, 6–8

Fans of the beloved book series are freaking out because Netflix is bringing The Baby-Sitters Club back to our screens with a 10-part live-action series. There's never been a better time to introduce Kristy, Mary-Anne, Claudia, Stacey, Dawn, and the rest of club to a new generation of readers!

Buy the book that started it all here.

As long-time fans (and readers!) are reunited with their favorite characters, you can encourage your students to follow their story of female friendship, entrepreneurialism, and empowerment as they set up a baby-sitting business.

Author Ann M. Martin will serve as a producer on the show. “I’m amazed that there are so many passionate fans of The Baby-Sitters Club after all these years,” she said. “And I’m honored to continue to hear from readers—now grown, who have become writers, editors, teachers, librarians, filmmakers—who say that they see a reflection of themselves in the characters of Kristy and her friends. So I’m very excited about the forthcoming series on Netflix, which I hope will inspire a new generation of readers and leaders everywhere.”

Plus, check out the graphic novel adaption of the first installment to excite any reluctant readers in your classroom.
