Sign Up for Scholastic's Teacher Newsletter

By Lindsey Petlak
Grades PreK–K, 1–2, 3–5, 6–8, 9–12

Want to get lessons, timely activities, grab-and-go printables, and book-based teaching ideas delivered to you every month? You can! There is this lovely little invention called the Scholastic Teacher Newsletter. It's free, it comes once a month to your email, and it will SAVE YOU TIME. Signing up is as simple as typing in your email and grade range. Why the grade level question? So you can get the version of the newsletter most relevant for you. Check out this sample edition of the newsletter or take a look at the May/June issue to see for yourself!

    TIMELY TIPS and TREATS

One of the best aspects of the monthly newsletter is that each edition is focused on timely, relevant topics for that month. Whether it’s holiday or seasonal-based, or packing-up-the-classroom advice, each issue of the newsletter is packed with precisely what you’ll need to make any month run smoothly, please your kiddos, and save you time and effort. The newsletter is WHAT you need, WHEN you need it most.

    CURATED to SAVE YOU TIME

I cannot tell you how many precious, countless hours (that I didn’t really have to spare) I have spent over and over again, each month, for my entire teaching career combing the Internet, searching for resources, ideas, crafts, checklists, printables — you name it! Between Web searching, Pinterest, and teacher blogs (and more!), I never had a problem FINDING things, but the TIME it took was incredible. I could have used that time for family, friends, classroom tasks, etc. To me, the number one asset of Scholastic’s monthly teacher newsletter is that everything is curated for you. It’s all in one place. Everything you need, at your fingertips, linked to additional resources, and ready to go. Save your time and energy, because teaching takes enough of both already!

    FREE. ENOUGH SAID

Just like the time I’ve spent searching for resources, I have equally spent tons of cash for monthly resources year after year. Not only is the Scholastic newsletter free, but the resources, ideas, advice, and other priceless goodies featured are also free! Of course, there are options to purchase Scholastic books you might want for the month, or even a sale being advertised, but the point of this resource delivered directly to you each month is to provide a plethora of free teacher goodies. What’s not to love?

    WHAT’S INSIDE

Exact content may fluctuate a bit monthly, but overall, you can expect to see much of the following in every issue of this awesome newsletter:

    • Curriculum planning ideas

    • Lesson plans

    • Resource sets

    • Crafts

    • Projects

    • Planning calendar

    • Checklists

    • Book recommendations

    • Top Teaching blog posts

    • Hands-on activities

    • Highlights from Scholastic magazines, Reading Clubs, and more!

What are you waiting for? Check out the May/June issue to see for yourself and then sign up. While there is no July issue, the first one you will receive in August will be chock full of getting yourself, your students, and your classroom ready for a great new school year!

Thanks for reading, and HAPPY SUMMER!
