3 Simple Steps to Social Action

By Christy Crawford
Grades 1–2, 3–5, 6–8, 9–12

Show your digital natives how they can start a mini reading revolution. To start, watch the Usher webcast and the 60-second video below with your students. In three simple steps, young readers can find email addresses for their local representative and submit a class letter about the power and possibilities that reading brings. Once students submit their "call to action," they'll receive an email confirmation from Scholastic. Within a few hours after that, they'll receive an email in return from their local member of Congress. Watch the videos and start writing!
