Linda Diamond

Linda Diamond is the Executive Vice President of Consortium on Reading Excellence (CORE). Linda was one of the original founders of CORE and developed CORE's initial training materials. She develops CORE's literacy implementation programs, school change models, and is involved with CORE's product development.

Ms. Diamond was formerly the Director of Curriculum, Staff Development, and Evaluation for the Alameda City Unified School District as well as an elementary and middle school principal. She worked as a policy analyst with RPP International, an education research and public policy forum. Ms. Diamond served on the California State Superintendent's Task Force on Reading and was coauthor of Building a Powerful Reading Program, which helped establish the foundation for reading policy and legislation in California.

Ms. Diamond is known nationally for her work on standard setting and assessment, coauthoring two publications on industry skill standards for school-to-career programs. She is the coauthor of CORE Assessing Reading: Multiple Measures, the nationally acclaimed CORE Teaching Reading Sourcebook, and most recently the newly published Vocabulary Handbook.
