Andrea Alban Gosline, along with Lisa Burnett Bossi, is one of the co-creators of BossiGosline Pictures and Verse. Their inspirational books, heartfelt greeting cards, and simple treasures draw from a love of cozy homes and the wonders of the natural world.
Andrea has worn many entrepreneurial hats, from owning a natural food store and teaching kids healthy cooking classes to writing lifestyle newspaper columns and producing large-scale events for the National Parks Association, the Salvation Army, and the American Heart Association.
She discovered her passion for creative writing on her sixth birthday when she decided to "make" a poetry book-a handlettered scroll tied with red ribbon. At high school graduation, Andrea was awarded the Bank of America English Achievement Award. "The framed certificate still hangs in my writing room as a beacon for my creative journey," states Andrea.
The idea for January's Child: The Birthday Month Book came about when Andrea was reading the nursery rhyme, Monday's Child, to her baby daughter Lily. "I was struck by the shallow and negative message of the words", says Andrea. "If you were born on Monday, you were fair of face, born on Wednesday, you were full of woe, and Thursday's child had far to go... Lisa Bossi, the book's illustrator, and I came up with the idea to create our own rhyme for children's birthdays and the positive qualities each child enters the world with."
Now a full-time mother, author, and Creative Director, Andrea lives in a 1927 English Tudor style home with her husband, Carl, their two beloved children and their Irish Setter. Meet Ms. Gosline online at http://www.bossigosline.com/
