Yona is a highly experienced and dynamic speaker who really knows how to engage with her audience. Winner of the prestigious Once Upon a World Award presented by the Simon Wiesenthal Center, as well as a Texas Bluebonnet finalist, Yona has written many books that resonate with girls and boys from grades three through six. Description of the Author’s Presentation

How a Book Becomes a Book
45 minutes

This forty-five minute presentation charts the progress of a book from inspiration to finished product, touching on topics such as research, drafts, editing, illustration, and art direction. The many questions Yona asks her audience helps bring them fully into the conversation. The program includes a brief Power Point presentation, as well as a short reading and a Q&A period.

Conference and Festival Appearances

Yona's "How a Book Becomes a Book" presentation can be adapted and shortened for a panel format.

Virtual Visits

Yona is happy to drop in for a 15-20 minute virtual visit and Q&A via Skype with school, book, and library groups that have read at least one of her books.

Yona requires a set up for PowerPoint presentations.
